Week of Feb. 24th-28th

Class Picture day will be on Monday!

Academics:

ELA: We will work with our last list of Morphs. List #10 and the test will be Friday. Work jobs are as follows:
RRJ due 3/6
Social Studies non-fiction reader due 2/28
Morph test 2/28
Writing reflections 2/28
We will be working on Figurative Language this week and complete many activities on this topic in our Ready book with a lesson check on Friday.
We will continue our discussion and work with point of view as well.

Math:  We will be multiplying and dividing decimals/fractions this week.

Science:  Students will dissect flowering plants this week.  We will wrap up our unit on plants and begin discussing the human body.  It is important for students to understand the function of all the organs.

Week of Feb. 17th-21st

Academics:

ELA:  New work jobs! RRJ with a chat due 1/21 and Social Studies-ticket/non-fiction reader due 2/28.  We will be sharing, color coding and editing our Reading prompt from last week. On Friday we will have a test on our skill of the week which is using multiple accounts of the same topic, looking at similarities and differences, as well as point of view.
We enjoyed reading Pencil, A story with a point this week! Thanks Bernie! Here is a pun to make you smile! Get it??? 😆


Math:  We will be working on multiplying decimals.  We will be finishing module 4 prior to spring break.

Science:  We will continue our discussion on plants.  We will discuss the difference between flowering and non flowering plants and how plants respond to stimuli.

Week of Feb. 10th-14th

Friday will be our field trip to the IMAX.  Students will need to bring a bagged lunch.

There will be no school on Monday, Feb. 17th in observance of Presidents' Day!

Academics:

ELA: We will not have a morph test this week due to the Field Trip!  RRJ is due with a chat on 2/13.  We will have an Independent Practice in our Ready book due on Friday 2/13 pages 228-233.
This week's new topic will be Analyzing Accounts of the Same Topic.  We will have a writing prompt on Tuesday and Wednesday.  1 hour times on each day.
We will continue to share our Drone prompts, write reflections, and make edits.

Week of February 3rd-7th

We will head to Twin Lakes on Tuesday for a school tour.  We will be back in time to eat lunch at our normal lunch time.  All permission slips are due on Monday.  Monday is also the last day to pay for the IMAX field trip.  The cost is $19.

Math:  We are continuing to multiply fractions using models.



Science:  We will be discussing weather tools and types of clouds.  We will have a fun activity to help us remember the different types of clouds.  Thank you to all the families who donated some cotton balls! :)
