Week of March 1st-5th

 

Can you believe we are already in March with SPRING BREAK right around the corner? 

              Science PMA Testing this week-Tuesday and Wednesday! Please be at School!

ELA: Due to the 2 days of morning testing we will only add an RRJ to our work job list this week. The RRJ will be on point of view and needs a thinking map to go with it!

We will have a timed Writing Prompt on Wednesday and Friday. 60 minutes per day. The FSA writing test is slowly approaching-April 6th. We will only have one more practice before the actual test.  Our next practice will be a 2 hour test and it will be very much like the real deal! That will be on March 16th! The writing has been amazing so far and I know everyone will be ready for the test! 💓💓💓💓

We will be working on using multiple sources to gain information. This will be in the Ready book as well as with our Writing prompt!

Ready skill this week: Finish Point of View and  Locating information from multiple sources. 

MATH/SCIENCE:

Math: This week we will be classifying plane Figures. Defining-polygons, triangles, and quadrilaterals.

Science: We will be comparing plant structures to animal structures. We will review the body organs and their functions.

     No School On Monday! 

ELA:

We will not have any vocabulary this week due to the short week. New SS ticket will be due on 2/26. 

We will not have a writing prompt this week but will work with our current prompts to edit, color code and revise in chat groups with peers.

Ready lesson this week is Point of View.

We do have Ready pages due 2/26 for Literary Structure-Independent practice. p288-292.

Math/Science:

Math: We will continue our study of Area with our weekly quiz on Friday.

Science: Test on the Human Body will take place on 2/17,

Week of February 8th-12th

Progress Reports go home Tuesday, February 9th.  Please sign and return by Friday. Have conversations with your child to set goals for how to maintain or bring up grades before report card time.

Remember Valentines are due on February 8th for those wishing to distribute cards! Thank you for helping to keep everyone safe! 

ELA:

We will have our final list of Homonyms for vocabulary this week with a test on Friday.

SS-nonfiction reader packet is due on 2/12.

New Timed Writing Prompt this week!  60minutes/60 minutes. Students are rocking and rolling the writing prompts! We will be READY for the test in April! (Tuesday and Wednesday!)

Ready standard this week will be Literary Structure as well as revisiting point of view! Lesson check on Friday!

Math:

We will continue our study of Units with Module 5, lessons 10-15.
