Week of November 13th-17th

Math and Science Night will take place on Thursday from 6-7:30, we hope to see everyone there.  Winners of the science fair will be announced at this time.

The Marine Science Center Field Trip will take place on Tuesday, November 21st.  Students will be required to being a bagged lunch on this day.  They are also asked to decorate a water or milk jug for collecting shells on the beach.  One student from each bus will win a prize for the best decorated jug.

Academics:

ELA:
This week we will resume our study of Morphs #7 with our test on Friday.  Remember all morph tests are cumulative.  Study all word lists #1 through #7.

For work jobs this week we will have an RRJ and a Social Studies ticket (Immigrants in America) due December 1.
We will will read chapter 9 in Esperanza Rising and complete a mid unit assessment on  this chapter on Wednesday, 11/15.
For Magic Monday we will be reading a book called Dorthea's Eyes and completing a Character "Cheart" πŸ’“to go along with this.

Keep working on improving Achieve and I-ready levels at home and recording them for prizes!

Math:
We will wrap up using a picture and number line to add fractions with a test on Tuesday.  This will cover content from Module 3 lessons 1 -7.  As we progress through Module 3, we will make like fraction units numerically

Science:  Due to the Science Fair Projects, we got a little bit behind and will continue to finish up Force & Motion-- our quiz will be moved to this week on Wednesday.  We will then begin our unit on Earth & Space! During this unit we will discuss-- the suns movement, moon phases, weathering and erosion, planets (inner & outer), clouds
