Week of October 19th-23rd

We hope everyone enjoyed the extra day off this weekend!  Just a reminder that report cards will go home next Monday the 26th.

Lunch Room Changes:  Our lunch time has changed to 12:55-1:25.  Be sure to pack your child with a snack daily as it is makes for a long morning!  Also, students cannot buy a la carte items on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  These items can only be purchased on Wednesday and Friday.  This is to help alleviate the long lunch lines due to free lunch for all students.

We would like to welcome our 6 new students to our rooms who are joining us from virtual school! :)

Academics:

ELA: Morph's are back this week! We will be studying list #6 this week with a test on Friday. Remember the tests are cumulative so keep studying lessons 1-5 as well! Flash cards will be added to our rings.

RRJ's are due on Friday 10/23.  A new SS ticket is due on 10/29 and will focus on Technology and Exploration. We will be finishing up with comparing and contrasting events and settings in stories and begin working on Theme of a Story or Drama. Lesson Checks on Friday. WOW! (Writing on Wednesdays!) We will continue working on introduction paragraphs and venture into our whole essay plans. I have been impressed by our budding writers so far!

Bin of Happiness Winners for this week are:

Jack B. and Joseph O. See Mrs. Ray of 🌞 for a trip to Happiness!

New Secret Phrase is:

Write this on a sticky note and give to Mrs. Ray of 🌞!

Math: We will continue to work on metric conversions using multiplication and division, we will then move into whole number division.

Science:  We will continue to discuss electrical transformations this week.  Students will learn the different between a closed and open circuit.  We will also focus on what is a good conductor or insulator of electricity.
