Week of October 9th-13th

Early Release on Wednesday.

The Fun Run takes place on Friday, October 13th.  Our group will be outside from 9:45-10:45 on the track, join us!

Academics:

ELA: Morphs list #5 this week with the test on Friday!

We began reading Esperanza Rising and will continue this week reading closely and getting to know our characters.

We will also continue with Zoo writing prompts this week and will wrap these up sometime next week.

We have a social studies ticket due Oct. 20.  No RRJ this week!

Bin of Happiness winners are Meg, Kashvi, and Nicolai this week!

Math:
Fluently multiply multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm to solve multi-step word problems.
Multiply decimal fractions with tenths by multi-digit whole numbers using place value understanding to record partial products and reasoning to determine the placement of the decimal.

Reason about the product of a whole number and a decimal with hundredths using place value understanding and estimation. 
There will be a test covering multi-digit whole number multiplication and expressions.

Science:  We will be talking about physical and chemical changes.  We will also discuss the different forms of energy.  Students should be working on their science fair projects at home.  Reminder they are due on November 8th.
